SALARY:                               FTE £24,000 – £26,000 pro rata   

HOURS:                                18.75 – 37.5 hours per week 

CONTRACT TYPE:             Fixed Term to June 2022

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

At community charity, Groundwork South, we are changing places, changing lives across the South of England, one green step at a time

We are looking for a skilled and experience Horticultural Trainer to deliver horticultural Training & community projects across Hastings and Rother .

The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching and industry qualification for the post and have substantial proven horticulture experience. You must be highly motivated and be interested in supporting learners and trainees to reach their potential.

Greener Futures is a CHART (Connecting Hastings and Rother Together) Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme. The CHART CLLD Local Development Strategy supports projects that bring a fresh approach to tackling deep-rooted problems in deprived communities within Hastings and Bexhill. The Programme uses European Structural and Investment Funds.

Greener Futures will support over 800 residents from the CHART areas of Hollington, Hastings Town Centre, Central St Leonards, North East Hastings and Ore to move closer to employment (210 residents) and/or improve their health and wellbeing through volunteering, training and work experience in green spaces close to home and in Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve and Combe Valley Countryside Park. Horticultural Taster sessions and accredited training will be a key element of the offer.

If the role is appointed on a full time level the Horticultural Trainer will also be required to deliver accredited training across Hastings and Rother and may also be required to deliver in other parts of the region.
