At Groundwork South, we are changing places, changing lives across the South of England, one green step at a time.

Through the European Social Fund, Groundwork South was recently awarded a Community Grant to deliver horticultural taster days and qualifications to unemployed and inactive residents in Torbay.  The Horticulture Tutor will play a central role in delivering the taster days and formal Level 1 Horticulture Courses, accredited by City & Guilds.

The tutor will deliver accredited and non-accredited horticulture training blended with soft skills courses to unemployed and inactive adults aged 18 -64 years, supporting them on their journey to employment, including upskilling and empowering learners to volunteer for opportunities with Local Friends of Groups in Torbay Parks and Open Spaces.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching and industry qualification for the post and have substantial proven horticulture experience. You must be highly motivated and be interested in supporting learners and trainees to reach their potential.

This post in initially for 7.5 hours a week, 1 day a week. Groundwork South is currently developing it’s portfolio in the Devon & Cornwall area and with our continued growth, we would hope to increase the hours of the successful candidate over time.
