Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced and dynamic Communications or Marketing professional wanting to make a genuine difference through the work you do? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Our work is varied because we believe that no one approach on its own can lead to real, long lasting change. Our projects tackle climate change, help people out of fuel poverty, help young people reach their potential and people of all ages get into work and training. We also design, improve and create valuable urban green spaces which is perhaps what we are best known for.

As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will lead on shaping and delivering our marketing, communication and PR functions across the organisation and contribute to the Groundwork Federation national communication strategy and activities as required. You will also take an active role in the development of new projects and programmes related to communication activities and outputs.

You’ll be an established, hands-on marketing and / or communications professional with at least 4-years’ experience of shaping and delivering marketing and communications strategies for one or more organisations. Having previously worked with external clients, partners or funders, ensuring their communications requirements are met is also desirable for this role.

You should have experience of creating a broad range of innovative and cost-effective communications and marketing campaigns using digital and non-digital tools and mediums. Experience of designing and implementing targeted campaigns and communications for a range of audiences is essential. You will work closely with our Communities, Youth, Landscape and Employment managers and their teams to ensure communications and digital engagement requirements are met and that communication is tailored and optimised for each area of work and / or project.

We are looking for someone to provide effective support, management and leadership to the Communications Team, currently a team of four. An important function of the role is managing and planning the team’s workload based on their capacity, as monitored through our internal Project Management System.

You should possess strong communication and networking skills, as you will be expected to build relationships with, and pitch wide-ranging concepts and stories to journalists, project partners and other stakeholders. You will have overall responsibility for identifying and communicating compelling human interest stories showcasing Groundwork’s impact in the capital.

You will also be required to oversee the recording of Communications & PR related analytics and KPIs (key performance indicators) and report on these to the Executive Director and The Board of Trustees as required.
