MI & Claims Officer – Northern Directions

Job Title:                       MI & Claims Officer

Salary:                          Circa £21,000 per annum

Hours of Work:         37 hours per week

Location:                   TBC

Duration:                   Fixed term contract until 31/10/2023

Responsible For:      Supporting a caseload of young people to progress

Groundwork aims to be the UK’s leading regeneration charity, working through partnership to create communities in which people are proud to live and work.

Northern Directions is an exciting new youth programme covering the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP) area, targeting deprived communities within Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the North Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA). This programme will support young NEET aged 16-24 to progress towards or into employment, training or education by providing a bespoke employability and personal development package designed around each young person’s individual circumstances.

About the role

Groundwork has an exciting opportunity within our Project Team working with vulnerable young people who have significant and complex barriers to help and support them to identify solutions and progress towards entry into education, employment or training. You will engage in effective mutli-agency working with all agencies responsible for those in these cohorts and you will have significant experience of working with young people and employers. Dealing with a variety of youth project delivery tasks in a diverse and busy internal and external environment, ensuring deadlines are met whilst maintaining quality.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service. 

A bit about you

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic professionals to join our team and lead in the engagement with targeted communities to provide and promote inclusive opportunities for young people and young adults to develop positive working relationships that will enable them to achieve their potential.

You will work with vulnerable young people and adults aged 16-24 who have significant and complex barriers to help and support them to identify solutions and progress towards entry into education, employment or training.

Good IT skills to enable delivery methods to be varied and support in keeping paperwork and MIS systems up to date. Excellent communication skills to enable you to support your caseload of young people as well as engaging with local employers and organisations.
