ROLE DESCRIPTION:

At community charity, Groundwork South, we are changing places, changing lives across the South of England, one green step at a time.

We are seeking a Recruiter to help us deliver the National Citizen Service (NCS) Programme to diverse groups of young people aged 16 – 17 in Plymouth. The programme brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility.

NCS encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication. The programme includes two residential experiences together with time working in the participants local communities designing and delivering innovative social action projects.

As NCS Recruiter you will need to be creative and enthusiastic in building relationships with schools and promoting what we can offer. Determined, tenacious and a skilled problem-solver, you will be comfortable using your own initiative and working with minimal supervision.

You will have a genuine flair for engaging, inspiring and motivating young people as you establish strong working relationships with assigned schools, colleges and other networks in our area to recruit young people on programme. Your track record of successfully supporting programmes, will reflect your energy and your organisational skills to ensure the NCS reporting and quality requirements are met.

During the programme you will act as a Wave Lead managing a wave of young people over a period of 8 weeks across the Summer. You must be able to work outside normal hours, including some evenings, weekends and overnight during the residential elements of the programme.

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for which you will need to be insured for business use. Employees are able to claim back mileage rates as per our Expenses Policy.
