Programme Manager, Barnet

Location: office base in East Barnet, travel across the borough of Barnet and Groundwork London offices, as required

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 FTE; actual salary  £21,000-£24,000 pro rata

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Groundwork London is seeking an established Programme Manager to lead our varied portfolio of community projects in Barnet.

Groundwork London delivers a range of projects and programmes across the London Borough of Barnet, including Volunteering Barnet – the Borough Volunteer Service, Barnet Food Distribution Hub, Barnet Health Champions and the LOOP (Upcycling Centre).

In Barnet, Groundwork London is a proud partner of Barnet Together, an award-winning Partnership between Inclusion Barnet, Volunteering Barnet and the Young Barnet Foundation. Together we provide quality training, and volunteering support and provide vital resources and advice for Barnet’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.

Groundwork is seeking a strong Programme Manager who will oversee the delivery, financial management and quality of Barnet projects delivered by Groundwork London. The post-holder will lead Groundwork London operations within the Barnet Together partnership. They will work closely with colleagues in Inclusion Barnet and Young Barnet Foundation, to align our delivery plans and work programmes, to ensure what we collectively deliver meets the needs of the VCFSE sector and Barnet Communities. The role will have an active role in working with Barnet Council and play an important part in the strategic development of current and future project work in the borough.

The Barnet Programme Manager will have both team and line management responsibilities.

Please contact us if you have: 

  • Extensive experience in mobilising, delivering and managing the community, volunteering, health or environmental projects
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector. Experience working in Barnet is desirable
  • Excellent networking and liaison skills, including developing and maintaining a range of high-level partnerships
  • Ability to design and embed monitoring and evaluation processes into a project life cycle
  • Strong team management and leadership qualities
