About us

Groundwork works across the UK helping communities find practical solutions to the challenges they face. We provide training and create jobs, reduce energy use and waste, re-connect people with nature and transform whole neighbourhoods. Step by step we’ll go on changing places and changing lives until everywhere is vibrant and green, every community is strong enough to shape its own destiny and everyone can reach their potential.

About the role

Groundwork has an exciting opportunity within our Project Team for a Home Energy Support Officer. This post will work across Barrow and South Lakes, engaging the community and offering practical support and advice to those in need, helping to make their homes warmer, happier and cheaper to run.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

About you

We are seeking someone with strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for working in the community and helping people. You will help people in need – offering energy advice and fit energy saving measures. You will be confident in delivering informal training in the community and promote the project through referrals.

Full training will be provided, so having prior-knowledge of energy efficiency is not vital.
