Unique opportunity for an experienced ESOL tutor to join our IMPACT programme which supports the refugees and non-EU migrants to settle into their lives by providing student-led ESOL conversation lessons.

The IMPACT programme in Bristol supports refugees and migrants to settle into their lives in Bristol through three key areas:

  • LANGUAGE: Our conversational English language classes are an opportunity for refugees and non-EU migrants to practise their English whilst discussing diverse topics
  • CULTURE: Our creative workshops bring people together through community activities to promote inter-cultural understanding, practise English, meet friends and build confidence. Activities will be “green” and focus on the theme “Create and Communicate”, including gardening, cooking, arts, crafts, etc.
  • PREPARATION FOR WORK: We provide employability skills training, careers advice and pastoral care to support refugees and non-EU migrants to access employment, education and training. We do this through 121 and group sessions via Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).

We are looking for an ESOL Tutor to deliver conversational English Language sessions under the ‘Language’ strand of the project, to improve participants’ ability to communicate with others and access services and employment opportunities. This will include face to face and online classes.

The successful candidate will have a qualification or equivalent experience of teaching ESOL or literacy in group and one-to-one settings, with the ability to motivate and inspire people facing multiple barriers to integration through the delivery of quality language sessions.

You will be able to manage a varied workload against deadlines in a target driven environment, keeping accurate records to monitor and evaluate progress against targets, and complete funders’ and awarding bodies’ paperwork in accordance with GDPR.
