The Good Store Manager

Location: The Good Store – West End 

Contract: Fixed Term 5 months 

Salary: Circa £28,000 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week


We are looking for an experienced and creative retail manager with a passion for promoting sustainable lifestyles and products. You will be a key part of the team opening a brand new high street concept store in the West End.  

Our Reuse Retail Team is tasked with establishing our premium high street retail presence. Bringing together selected ranges of sustainable products all under one roof, carefully curated alongside sustainable living advice to our customers. Our aim is that the income from these new stores will sustain our volunteer-led community-based reuse hubs which collect, repair, and upcycle unwanted furniture. Providing them to local residents who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford essential items for their homes 

Reporting to our Head of Reuse Retail, The Good Store Manager is responsible for the day to day running of our first commercial retailing venture which will market & sell sustainably produced & upcycled goods from the Trust’s various reuse initiatives and from a wide range of partners and vendors.

  • Lead staff and operational management in The Good Store” on a day to day basis.   
  • Maximise sales and income in support of Groundwork’s charitable activities. 
  • To support the wider team in applying marketing and retail promotional practices to ensure the store delights, surprises and educates customers via its marketing, merchandising messaging and stock
