Wellbeing Coaches x3

Location:       Open Access Hub in Peckham with a requirement to travel to other offices and locations as required

Contract:        3 Year fixed-term

Hours:             1 x 37.5 hours (full-time) / 2 x 25 hours (part-time) posts

Groundwork London is a leading social and environmental regeneration charity delivering over 500 projects each year, many of which support young people to achieve their goals through meaningful interventions which amplify their voice and increase involvement in volunteering and social action.

As part of Groundwork’s expanding Youth programme, we are recruiting Wellbeing Coaches to lead our innovative Open Access wellbeing support service in London on behalf of Southwark Council.

The service aims to improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people by ensuring all children and young people across Southwark:

  • Know where to go if they need mental wellbeing support
  • Are able to access support quickly
  • Feel empowered to make informed decisions about their mental health.

Groundwork London’s Open Access Centre will utilise early-intervention approaches to enhance the mental wellbeing of service users. These approaches will allow responses at the point of need which will reduce the need for referrals, appointments and waiting lists to specialist services. Children and young people will also be able to drop in.

To support service users, we are recruiting Wellbeing Coaches with experience, knowledge and understanding of overcoming the barriers and challenges facing children and young people seeking mental wellbeing support. You have to have the ability to engage and work with a range of young people with multiple support needs.

Your focus will be to provide coaching to encourage mental wellbeing self-management in both one-to-one and group work settings. Your responsibilities will include outreach work at various locations across the borough to increase the accessibility and visibility of the service, work closely with the families of children and young people to help them support their wellbeing and build positive relationships with community stakeholders.
