Groundwork’s Green Doctors are energy efficiency experts who help vulnerable people and communities to save money and stay warm whilst also contributing positively to the environment.

The comprehensive energy support and energy advice is extended via home visits, over the telephone or by way of workshop events. The Green Doctors London team works closely with the housing associations and the local authorities to ensure all those in need have an access to free and impartial service.

With soaring energy prices and the cost of inflation, Green Doctors are working at full capacity to support our local communities.

We deliver face-to-face community energy talks for different groups and organisations across London; recent visits being held at Age UK Barnet, Age UK Lambeth, The Dalgarno Trust and The Abbey Centre.

During these sessions, we talk about the energy crisis, useful tips and guidance on how to save energy in your home, provide information on easy energy-saving measures to use, and discounts and support schemes that are available. We detail the scope of our support and how to book an energy consultation.

These talks are an amazing opportunity for our Green Doctors team to speak with residents, ask questions and have an open conversation about energy in our daily life.

Our local presence, grassroots knowledge and relationship with beneficiaries helps further our purpose.

The response to the service is always positive and has helped residents take control of their energy bills, easing stress out of their daily lives and factoring in these uncertain times.

As Clare, one of the Green residents explains,

“It’s hard financially when it’s the winter months. Having small children as well, it’s important to keep warm. The Green Doctors came and showed me how to save energy, apply for grants and put reflective panels behind the radiators, which helped a lot.”
