Groundwork Wales Working in Partnership with Valleys Regional Park

Groundwork Wales has recently been awarded a year-long contract to deliver a programme of activities in partnership with Valleys Regional Park.  Valleys Regional Park is funded by the Welsh Government and aims to connect more people with the unique landscape of the south Wales valleys.

Work has commenced and we are planning some fantastic activities across our valleys and our communities.

Groundwork Wales’ Chief Executive Katy Stevenson said

We are delighted to be working with the Welsh Government, local authorities and a vast range of other partners from local authorities to voluntary groups on the Valleys Regional Park Guardians project.  We have a long history of working in our Valleys, supporting our amazing landscape, amazing people and amazing communities to Change Places, Change Lives.  This year-long project will support innovation and new approaches and will work to connect the Discovery Gateways, communities and landscape.  Activities we will deliver include improving the environment, land management skills and enterprising ideas such as local food growing. We are very much aligned with the aim of the Valleys Regional Park – to connect more people with our unique Valleys landscape and to maximise the potential of the natural and associated cultural heritage of the Valleys to generate social, economic and environmental benefits.
