Operations Supervisor
JOB OBJECTIVES
Responsible for the day to day supervision of operations at The Furniture Revival to ensure that we meet customer demands. This entails planning logistics, sales, supervision of staff and volunteers and accurately recording information about our operations. To work with colleagues to ensure that the warehouse is adequately run, to meet sales targets and contribute to an attractive and successful retail environment.
To cover staff absence, as required.
To liaise with the Retail and Reuse Manager on all issues relating to the role, including HR, contractual requirements, sales and operations.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Sales, Communication and Marketing
To organise and maintain high levels of sales, events, ad promotions at all times and ensure that the sales rooms are well-kept, including delivering excellent customer service.
To proactively recruit volunteers into the business. To supervise and mentor staff, volunteers and placements and ensure that they have a clear understanding of work place objectives. To carry out periodic reviews with staff, volunteers and placements.
To positively promote the services and opportunities to external organisations and communities.
To ensure that all front desk staff follow sales processes and procedures.
To monitor and update the e-commerce website with experience using the Shopify platform
2. Monitoring and Performance
To ensure that all collection and delivery records and other organisational paperwork is maintained and submitted on time to the Retail and Reuse Manager.
To work with others to meet any targets set by management.
3. Logistics
To cover for colleagues in periods of absence, to supervise all logistical operations and the warehouse to ensure that we meet customer demands and run an efficient delivery and collection service
4. Compliance
To ensure that all fire drills, building maintenance and planned inspection work is carried out and to maintain accurate and up to date records.
To ensure that Health and Safety, Waste Licences and other statutory requirements are adhered to, including ensuring waste and hazardous substances are stored appropriately, risk assessments are appropriate and all workers have adequate PPE.
To ensure that all accounts processes and procedures are carried out in line with organisational financial controls, including safeguarding cash and undertaking banking.
To ensure that all sensitive information is handled and stored appropriately and confidentially in accordance with Company procedures.
5. To undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be regarded as within the scope of responsibility of the post as defined by the Retail and Reuse Manager
6. To be responsible for managing and reporting concerns, and for putting into place procedures to safeguard children and vulnerable adults in the organisation
7. To be responsible for the safety of personal information within your role, in accordance with GDPR regulations; to comply with the data protection principles and to ensure that personal data is not disclosed outside the organisation’s procedures.
8. To be responsible for the Health and Safety of all clients, beneficiaries, volunteers and staff while working on and off site.
It is expected that you will have relevant experience relating to all of the above.
Training, support and guidance will be provided as part of ongoing development.
