Groundwork in London

NOURISH

NOURISH improves open spaces and promotes greener living in the White City and Edward Woods Estates. The cumulative impact will result in improved air quality, increased biodiversity and social cohesion.

Our approach

NOURISH will develop and implement long-term, holistic public realm improvements, improve resilience to the impacts of climate change and encourage healthy lifestyles. This will benefit local businesses and residents and build local skills and employability.

Working with residents, we will make the estates more attractive and install green infrastructure and nature-based solutions such as Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

Daniel Brittle, Community Programme Manager

UK Harvest will encourage behaviour change through food waste and sustainability education and set up a NOURISH hub to provide activities, classes and hot meals. For more information on the Nourish Hub, please visit:

Previous Design Proposals and Consultations

We have recognised potential opportunities for greening improvements in the Edward Woods Estate.

Over the past months, we have been speaking with residents and users of the Estate and identified four key design priorities, which include: food growing, biodiversity improvements, Swanscombe Road and NOURISH hub and potential SuDS sites (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems).

Stage 2b Edward Woods – July 2021

To build on the insight we gained from the previous round of consultation further consultation was carried out in July & August 2021 to help us refine the final details for the greening improvements. Please find below for consultation information and designs for residents
