Power to save

The project particularly benefits young people. who are living independently for the first time are without older role models from whom they can seek advice. They also have had limited support to prepare for independence and can struggle to understand their energy bills or seek the best prices. Many also simply accept the energy tariff which comes with their property. In addition, people in low-income households spend proportionally more of their income on fuel bills.

Through Power to Save we are running events, training volunteers to become community energy champions, holding group workshops and offering one to one home visits. This will tackle the problem of fuel poverty and educate people on how to save money now and in the future.
The workshops will cover subjects such as;

  • How to identify the best energy tariff
  • How to understand an energy bill
  • Energy saving hints and tips
  • How to access help and support
