Groundwork has an official partnership with Skanska UK, which aims to improve people’s prospects and places while promoting green living and working.
Skanska volunteers are supporting Groundwork projects as part of Lend a hand - Skanska UK's volunteering programme, which provides all employees with an extra day of leave to volunteer with a charity of their choice or at an event organised by the company.
“Sustainability is part of who we are at Skanska and the fantastic support Groundwork provides to so many people and communities fits perfectly with our aspiration to make a difference wherever we work. Through our relationship with Groundwork our employees will have lots of opportunities to give something back to local communities where we work.”
- Adam Crossley, Skanska Director of Environment
Skanska is one of the leading contractors in the UK that builds, maintains and upgrades the country's infrastructure. Skanska's purpose is to build for a better society by supporting the local communities in which its work is carried out. Across the UK, Skanska project teams are giving their time and experience to local causes.
Skanska chose Groundwork as a charity partner as its work supports the 'Skanska in the community strategy' which aims to make a positive difference to the community whilst inspiring the next generation through education. The partnership also allows Skanska employees to give something back to their local communities through the 'volunteering day' scheme.
