About The Loop

The Loop Pembury (Hackney) and Grahame Park (Barnet) are two award-winning community reuse hubs designed to help communities recycle and reuse more household goods, which reduces fly-tipping and amount of waste sent to landfill sites.

Training and Volunteering

At The Loop we collect, repair, upcycle and sell unique, reasonably priced furniture and other household goods. Many local people have become part of the re-use movement with the hubs also providing training, employment and volunteering opportunities for residents in a range of specialist skills, including furniture restoration.

Repurpose
The Loop began life in 2015 as part of an EU LIFE funded pilot project called Repurpose. Visit the Repurpose website to find out about the pilot and access the toolkits and other resources we produced in order to share our learning and best practice. Since the pilot ended in 2017 we’ve successfully secured additional funding and successfully developed two of the original pilot hubs in Hackney and Barnet. Find out what’s happening now at these hubs.
