GVA, one of the UK's leading and most diverse property management companies, have been working with us since 2013 to transform outdoor spaces in disadvantaged areas in order to help improve health and wellbeing to disadvantaged people as well as help Groundwork raise funds to support the lives of local communities.
Originally buddying up with Groundwork to provide volunteer support on our Living through Landscapes programme, a scheme designed to improve the outside spaces of care homes for the benefit of dementia patients. Supporting people with Alzheimer’s is something that is very close to GVA’s heart, and the partnership was sprung from GVA wanting to do more than just raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, but really get hands on with helping those affected.
In addition, Groundwork’s aim of encouraging people to utilise outdoor spaces more to improve health and wellbeing struck a chord with the team at GVA, and they were eager to put their skills and expertise towards realising our shared ambitions.
Our partnership has developed and this year GVA volunteers are providing their skills and enthusiasm to support Groundwork projects, with over 10 teams volunteering with us across the country. GVA were Groundwork’s first business member and will be sponsoring an award at Groundwork’s Community Awards.
