“Crucially, Rivington Terraced Gardens is a vital green space for communities in Lancashire to enjoy nature, and during the ongoing cost of living crisis it is a free and safe space for families to socialise. It also provides important opportunities for local people and visitors to reap the physical and mental health benefits of green space.”
Matthew Higginson, Chair of Rivington Heritage Trust commented “Rivington Terraced Gardens is a special place which is enjoyed by visitors 365 days a year. I’m delighted that the hard work of our many volunteers, supported by our partnership with Groundwork, has been recognised by the Green Flag and Green Heritage Awards.”
