Combe Valley Countryside Park covers 2.3 square miles (1,480 acres) and is located between Bexhill and Hastings, serving as a vital green space separating these two urban areas serving as community asset, offering nature right in close proximity.

The park features a network of footpaths for recreation and is important area for wildlife, acting as a corridor between the towns and supporting some extremely rare species. The park includes the largest area of reedbeds in Sussex and over 2,456 species of flora and fauna have been recorded within its boundaries.

The park boasts a rich diversity of habitats, including several UK priority habitats such as ancient woodland, hedgerow, reedbed, lowland fen, flooded meadows, lowland grassland, river, coastal vegetated shingle, and intertidal zones. Groundwork South is the managing agent for the Combe Valley Countryside Park CIC which brings together various stakeholders.

The Discovery Centre serves as the heard of the park and there are long-established groups using this space to offer opportunities for the communities of Hastings and Bexhill. The Friends of Combe Valley and Groundwork South run weekly volunteer sessions where people come together to take part in gardening and conservation opportunities in the Combe Valley Community Garden and the wider Combe Valley Countryside Park.

School environmental and outdoor education sessions run by Groundwork South who also often collaborate with the Friends of Combe Valley to provide free family nature education sessions, community educational workshops and community events which offer local people a chance to connect with local wildlife and nature.
