Rawtenstall Town Centre Consultation | Shape the Future of Your Town Centre

Exploring a Business Improvement District (BID) for Rawtenstall
Earlier this year, businesses across Rawtenstall were invited to share their views on the opportunities and challenges facing the town.
The consultation provided valuable insight into the issues affecting local businesses and highlighted a strong appetite for greater collaboration, improved communication, enhanced promotion of the town, and a stronger business voice.
Building on these findings, Pride in Place Rawtenstall has commissioned work to explore whether a Business Improvement District (BID) could provide a way for businesses to work together to address shared priorities, influence investment, and help shape the future of Rawtenstall.
No decisions have been made. This development phase is about listening to businesses, understanding priorities, and determining whether a BID could deliver real benefits for the local business community.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Business Improvement District (BID)?
A BID is a business-led partnership that brings businesses together to invest in agreed projects and services that support the local economy and improve an area.
Has a BID already been agreed?
No. This work is currently exploring whether a BID is the right option for Rawtenstall. Businesses will have opportunities to help shape any proposals before decisions are made.
Why are we doing this now?
The business consultation identified a desire for stronger business representation, improved communication, greater promotion of the town, and increased collaboration between businesses and stakeholders. Exploring a BID is one way of responding to those priorities.
Can I still get involved if I didn’t complete the original consultation?
Absolutely. This process is open to all businesses within Rawtenstall, and we encourage everyone to take part in the conversation.
