Rivington Terraced Gardens in Chorley has earned the prestigious Green Flag Award once again, cementing its status as one of the world’s premier green spaces.

The international quality mark recognises the site’s ongoing excellence in conservation, accessibility, and community engagement.The Gardens are one of a record breaking 2,391 in the UK to achieve the award this year – a fantastic testament to the hard work, passion and dedication of the team who care for this amazing green space, ensuring it is maintained to a high standard for visitors and residents to enjoy.

Rivington Terraced Gardens have also achieved the Green Heritage Site Accreditation for the management and promotion of its historic features.

Green Flag Award Scheme Manager, Paul Todd MBE, said: “Rivington Terraced Gardens has shown what can be achieved when parks are properly supported and managed.
