Salary: £28,000 per annum (pro rata)
Location: County-wide coverage, based in Wellingborough
Reports to: Green Projects Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Outreach Officer to play a leading role in our Stay Warm in Wellingborough initiative. This position focuses on building trust within local communities and ensuring that households most at risk of fuel poverty can access our Green Doctor services.

As our Senior Outreach Officer, you’ll be the vital link connecting communities with free energy advice that transforms lives. You’ll help families stay warm, reduce bills, and tackle fuel poverty while leading initiatives that break down barriers and ensure the most vulnerable households can access the support they need.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive referrals to our Green Doctor team by raising awareness of our services, breaking down barriers to engagement, and creating effective referral pathways
  • Work particularly closely with BAME communities, consulting with residents and organisations to understand challenges and co-design solutions that increase service uptake
  • Provide leadership support to our outreach team, including our Family Support Officer, Children & Young People’s Engagement Officer, and Community Champions
  • Help ensure our delivery is consistent, inclusive, and impactful across all our programmes
  • Build and sustain partnerships with local community groups and organisations
  • Act as a bridge between local communities and our Green Doctor service

What we’re looking for

We need someone who can build genuine connections within communities and has experience working with diverse groups, particularly those facing disadvantage. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both community members and partner organisations will be essential.

You’ll be joining our established Green Doctor team, working alongside our Senior Green Doctor and Green Doctor Trainees to expand the reach and impact of our services across Northamptonshire.
