The Beyond Barriers programme is now closed. The following information is from when the programme was active:

If you’re aged 18 – 66, unemployed and living in South Derbyshire, we can help you explore what you want to do next and how to get there – step by step.

We can help you find a paid or voluntary job, gain new skills, improve your mental health, boost your confidence, and support you to apply for benefits you’re entitled to.

And best of all? This service is completely free of charge.

We also have discretionary grant funding available to help you. This could be used to go on a training course, get a laptop to help with your job applications, buy smart interview clothes, etc.

You will be assigned a coach and will meet them regularly in a place of your choosing.

Watch Timothy’s experience with us. After years of caring for family members, he wanted to turn his experience into a career in care, but he didn’t know where to start and was experiencing mental health issues.

Employability Coach Vanessa helped to boost his confidence, gain new skills, and he now has a full-time job in a local care home!

Testimonials

Here’s what people who were helped through Beyond Barriers said about us:

“I’ve worked with Claire for the last six weeks and in that short time she’s improved my confidence, helped me write a really good CV, prepare for interviews and apply for jobs. I’m really happy to say I’ve now got a new job and it’s all thanks to her.

“Thanks to Beyond Barriers, I’ve now found my dream job!”
