Celebratory Lunar New Year event in West Bridgford on February 10
Friends and families are invited to a free Lunar New Year Celebratory event on Saturday February 10 from 1pm until 6pm in West Bridgford for a fun day out with games, activities and entertainment for all.
The celebratory event is supported by Shared Prosperity Funding from the UK Government and will take place at Sir Julien Cahn Pavilion, West Park on Loughborough Road, NG2 7JE.
Visitors can take part in fun workshops based on Lunar New Year traditions including ink painting, calligraphy writing, red banner making, flower paper crafting, board game Mahjong and more!
For those wanting to try a martial art there will be 30-minute gentle Tai Chi sessions taking place throughout the day.
There will also be exciting entertainment during the event including stilt walkers, bubble artists, a K-pop DJ and finale LED dancers.
Food and drink stalls will be available throughout the day including Shio Street Food,
Bubble Waffle Bar and Uramaki serving sushi and bubble tea.
Event goers will be asked to sign-in on entrance for all activities as there will be limited capacity within the venue.
Rushcliffe Borough Council is delivering the event in partnership with Groundwork Five Counties, Hong Kong Notts and Hong Kongers in Britain.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader Cllr Abby Brennan said: “We’re excited for our Lunar New Year event celebrating the Year of the Dragon which is welcome to all!
“It will be a fantastic fun day for residents across the Borough and you can enjoy an array of free activities.
