Welcome to The Priory Mews in Worksop!

We are collaborating with Bassetlaw District Council and North Notts College to provide T-Level students and apprentices with on-the-job work experience.

Cohorts of Bricklaying and Joinery students are gaining work experience – led by our environment experts and supported by their tutors.

The Priory Mews is a neighbourhood in Worksop that needs numerous rejuvenation works doing, including relaying brick walls, replacing pergolas, fencing, installing and planting greenery, and more.

This real-life work experience is valuable to the students and will be a huge boon when they start looking for employment – and they’re also making a tangible difference to the local community!

This project started in June 2025 and each student is to complete a 45 day work placement.

We’ve made great improvements around the neighbourhood.

The joinery students have replaced dozens of disintegrating pergolas, gates, fences and drying stations. The bricklayers have been busy repairing crumbling and missing walls, as many around the area were damaged or had poorly bonded brickwork.

When we meet Ellie on a sunny day, she is hard at work mixing mortar. She uses this to repair damaged brick walls. She says“I’m the only girl on site, but that doesn’t bother me. I love getting my hands dirty!

“I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved so far, the people here have said it’s looking much better already which is great to hear.”
