I’d tell anyone thinking of attending a session to definitely try it. It won’t cost you anything and it gives your child a lot – and a lot of fun!

There’s a lot to learn from being outdoors and I don’t think children are outdoors enough, especially in England with the weather so changeable. When I have the chance for the children to be outdoors – I’d rather do that.

Wellies in the Woods sessions are so welcoming and lovely. It’s a real testament to Hannah that my daughter has grown in confidence. I’d definitely tell all parents to go along and see what it’s all about!

Helping children and families thrive through nature

A recent survey found that only 61% of children living in the most deprived areas spend time outside every week compared to 81% in the most affluent. Groundwork’s UK Chief Executive, Graham Duxbury talks about how we are tackling this unfair inequality.

Hannah Smith, Team Manager and Wellies in the Woods Facilitator at Groundwork East, reflects on the purpose of Wellies in the Woods, her time connecting with families, and why this programme is so important for children’s futures.
