London Road in Bloom

Posted on 01 July 2015

Thank you to everyone who got involved in the London Road free planters project!

For the past nine years, the London Road Community and Neighbourhood Watch have organised the inspirational London Road in Bloom. All residents are invited to get involved with the on-going regeneration of the area through the project.
London Road in Bloom plants ready for planting Groundwork SuffolkLondon Road in Bloom focuses on improving the gardens of the street by encouraging residents to plant floral displays, do a spot of landscaping, tidying and litter picking - all whilst getting out in the fresh air, meeting the neighbours and having some fun!

This year Groundwork Suffolk supported the project by organising the funding of 26 planters, a flower bed and a window box. On Saturday 20 June, the team also volunteered with members of the London Road Community and Neighbourhood Watch to plant up the planters with begonias, busy lizzies, marigolds and geraniums. It was a great day!

You can see more lovely pictures of the residents and Groundwork staff getting stuck in.

Huge thanks to the East of England Co-op, Burlington Baptist Church, Fuller Davis and Ipswich Borough Council for all their support.

Celebration Event

All residents are invited to a celebration event on Friday 10 July from 6:30pm at the Westgate Club, so we can say a huge thank you to everyone. This is a FREE event with buffet, quiz, live band and children’s games. The winners of the garden competitions will also be announced at this event and their prizes presented!

Please get in touch with Helen Lawrence (on 07740 781957 or hel9876@hotmail.com) if you would like to come or to find out more.
