Kevin Jones Headshot

I have had an interest in the environment since my childhood, thanks to the Ladybird and I-Spy books and some brilliant teachers! These provided the inspiration for me to go and study geography at university and to later complete an MA in environmental science.

I spent most of my career in the financial services sector where I focussed on strategy and planning, business development and change management, and where I also held a number of non-executive director roles. In 2017 I left the financial services world and went to work for Sustrans which allowed me to develop my interest in cycling and active travel.

In 2021 I became a trustee of CPRE Norfolk where I’m currently Vice Chair. I am also treasurer of Diss Cycling and Touring Club, part of Cycling UK.

Away from work I enjoy walking and cycling in the countryside and have completed a number of long distance routes in the UK and Europe. I enjoy most sports, in particular rugby, cricket, football (although sadly my playing days are in the past) and skiing. Other interests include music – I have a broad and (some would say) eclectic collection of albums – and reading.

I am thrilled to have become a trustee of Groundwork East as its aims and objectives align closely with what I believe needs to happen if we are to create a sustainable world that can be enjoyed by future generations. I hope that over the coming years I can utilise the skills and experience I have gained during my career to help take the organisation forward.

Kevin became a Trustee for Groundwork East in March 2025.
