Groundwork's Sustainable Business Consultants support over 700 businesses to progress towards Net Zero
Groundwork’s Sustainable Business Consultants are working in partnership with local authorities to offer impartial, tailored sustainability advice that helps businesses to build a stronger and greener future.
Made possible by funding from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, sustainability consultants have supported businesses across the UK with energy audits, decarbonisation plans, grant management and general sustainability advice – to become more sustainable and progress towards the UK’s Net Zero goal.
The programme’s aim is to assist businesses in understanding their environmental impact and be given the knowledge to reduce it, in addition to being incentivised and financially supported in order to make real progress.
Between 2023 and 2024, over 739 organisations, including Woodland Trust and Transport for Wales, were supported to improve their environmental performance, with considerable results. Groundwork’s Sustainable Business Consultants oversaw the creation of more than 100 carbon reduction plans, as well as helping to identify over one million pounds of cost savings and a potential 5.8 million kg of carbon savings.
The Sustainable Business team continues to deliver programmes offering support in across the UK.
