We are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic Centre Administrator to join our team.

We are recruiting for a: Centre Administrator

This is a key role supporting the day-to-day running of our thriving community centre and ensuring that our facilities and services meet the needs of local children, young people and their families.As part of a small and dedicated team, you will provide administrative, financial and operational support across the organisation. You will manage bookings, respond to enquiries, support volunteers and help promote The Vench within the local community. We are looking for someone who is proactive, flexible and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Job Purpose

About The Vench
The Vench is a much-loved adventure playground and community centre in the heart of Lockleaze, North Bristol. For over 50 years, we have been inspiring imaginative play and creating opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
Our mission is to ensure that all children and young people in Lockleaze live happy and healthy lives through access to a vibrant community space where they can play, learn and develop.
Our work focuses on:
• Providing a safe and vibrant place to play.
• Co-designing opportunities with young people and their families to build resilience and improve future prospects.
• Amplifying youth voice in decisions that affect Lockleaze and the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Centre Manager with the operational running of the centre.
• Raise and pay invoices and accurately record income and expenditure.
• Maintain petty cash records.
• Check and collate staff and volunteer expense claims.
• Provide administrative support to the wider team.
• Respond to enquiries in person, by telephone and via email.
• Manage room and site bookings.
• Prepare facilities for hirers and help ensure the site remains welcoming, safe and tidy.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Is confident managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Has experience of handling financial records, invoices or budgets.
• Communicates effectively with a wide range of people.
• Is confident using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
• Has strong customer service skills.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Is flexible, proactive and willing to get involved in a variety of tasks.
• Shares our commitment to supporting children, young people and families within the local community.
