Posted on 11 January 2019

Looking to pick up a new skill but not sure where to start? Why not create beautiful felted artwork for your home or create personalised gifts for special occasions.

While felting might seem complicated with unfamiliar equipment, you can be confident with the Groundwork Learning Centre Felting course you will be making fuzzy creations in no time. If you are already a seasoned knitter you might be looking for the next skill you want to pick up, or if you are a total beginner looking to learn something new, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

The 4 week course starts on Thursday 17th January 2019 from 2pm -4pm and offers the opportunity to learn traditional wet felting and the needle felting process. Wet felting is an old method and is a process of combining layers into one flat piece of felt fabric and is perfect for sturdy items such as bags and clothing. With needle felting the process is ideal for making three dimensional shapes by using needles that fuse fibres from the top and bottom of your project locking them together by creating a dense matted surface.
