We are passionate about changing places and lives for the better. With over 2000 staff across the UK, and nearly 30 years experience, we have the skills and knowledge to have a real impact on the issues that affect communities.

We are always keen to hear from people with the drive and determination to make a difference, and have lots of different ways you can get involved.
“We work with local communities, not for them. It’s about involving people in the regeneration process in such a way that they can take the lead for themselves.”

Green Gym
We run Green Gym sessions in various locations across South Tyneside and Newcastle, it is designed to bring local people together to ‘work out’ in their local green spaces through taking part in horticultural and conservation activities. Training and support is offered to all volunteers so that they can develop their skills and confidence. Find the full list of times and locations where you can take part and download the registration pack here.

Walk Leader
We organise frequent walks in various locations across South Tyneside and Newcastle for local residents to join to help them keep fit and socialise. We are always looking for new walk leaders to lead the residents along the chosen trails
so if you are a keen walker and are looking for a new challenge get in touch with us at 0191 428 1144 or email You can download our walk timetable here.

West Boldon Lodge

Volunteers can get involved at West Boldon Lodge in education and community work, site management, and practical conservation tasks such as meadow raking, reed pulling, coppicing, tree felling, footpath maintenance and species survey work. For those volunteers who would like to become more involved, we have a ‘Friends of West Boldon Lodge’ group who support and enhance our work.
