Groundwork runs Goblin Combe – a community woodland, offering residential and school group activities all year. The trails, buildings and obstacle course always need support to keep them open to the public and to improve facilities for communities and wildlife.
A world away from the office but just down the road!
Activities include (subject to change)
- Garden upkeep & weeding at the Lodge site
- Repair fence around the perimeter of the Lodge site
- Stone wall repair
- Wider Woodland – Coppicing & maintenance
- Wider woodland – Improving signage for woodland paths

The Vench

Number of volunteer places: 20
A much-loved adventure playground and community centre in the heart of Lockleaze. Inspiring imaginative play for over 45 years, in a fun and supportive environment to help children and young people live happy and healthy lives. The Vench believe in the importance of providing young people and their families with a safe place to play, learn and create the change they want to see in the world.
Types of Activities include (subject to change) :
- Playground maintenance
- Update the large faded signage that can be seen from the roadside
- Help with garden maintenance, strimming, weeding, planting and cutting back vegetation
- Outdoor furniture decorating/maintenance
