Groundwork NI COVID-19 statement
Groundwork Northern Ireland has been, alongside our colleagues and community members, monitoring COVID -19’s spread and the advice from health professionals and our government. This unprecedented situation is one that calls for us all to work together and act as one community.
Our priority has been and is the safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and those we support in the community and it is for this reason we have made the following decisions:
The Groundwork NI offices will close as of 5pm on 23/3/20. This decision has not been taken lightly but we feel it is the only appropriate course of action to protect our staff, volunteers and community members.
All Groundwork staff will be supported to work remotely and are contactable via email or mobile phone. We would ask any person who needs contact details or has a general enquiry to contact info@groundworkni.co.uk in the first instance.
Our community gardens will close as of 5pm on 23/3/20. We remain committed to supporting communities safely and where possible we are adapting our services to be offered online or over the phone. However, we feel this is necessary to support communities to abide by the social distancing and stay at home guidance from the government. We will continue to monitor this guidance and review our response to it.
We are working with our partners and funders and are very thankful of their support at this time and will continue to have contact with them.
We will share across the coming weeks activities that people can do from home to support the stay at home message and will continue to share and develop resources which will support people’s wellbeing. Please check in with our social media channels where we will keep you updated.
We would ask our communities to please, wherever possible, adhere to the advice from our government and health officials.
We look forward to working with you all, in person, again very soon.
Take care,
Team Groundwork NI
