At Groundwork, we believe everyone deserves access to nature and a strong sense of community. That’s why we’re dedicated to creating and supporting a growing network of vibrant Green Community Hubs – long-term community assets that make nature accessible for everyone while also providing essential social services like educational workshops, health and housing support, and a welcoming space to connect with others.

These Hubs are where communities take root – providing a place for people to socialise, volunteer, and connect, making neighbourhoods more cohesive and resilient. We work with local people to bring their ideas to life, building their skills along the way.

The result is a space for all – a place where people can access nature, learn new skills and feel a sense of community right on their doorstep.

Spaces that matter for people that matter

“It just makes you feel so much better in your head, in your body, in your soul.”

“I have good days and bad days. When I come here, it’s a good day.”

Want to see more Green Community Hubs across the UK? Go Green for Groundwork!

We are inviting everyone to ‘Go Green’ and raise funds to create more Green Community Hubs for people and places in need.

The best news is that we’ve made fundraising easier than ever by providing you with a ready-made quiz pack to help you gather your community together – and make a real difference.

If a quiz isn’t up your street, you could host a green themed dress down day at work or for family and friends. Even a simple gesture, such as wearing a green hair scrunchie, tie or socks has minimum effort with maximum donation potential.

Find out more below – including a link to download our nature quiz fundraising pack:

Want to support but can’t commit to fundraising on this occasion?

You can also make a donation. Every penny given to our Green Community Hubs goes to ensure people are given the opportunity to grow a future they deserve and live happier, healthier lives.

Other ways that you can support Groundwork’s Green Community Hubs

For over 45 years, Groundwork has had boots on the ground in communities across the UK bringing our mission of a fairer and greener society for all – to all.

As someone who cares about the social and environmental impact that Groundwork is making, you too have the power to make a real difference for more people in need of a helping hand.

  • If you’re able to offer pro-bono support or gifts in kind for these spaces
  • If you’re interested in partnership opportunities to create more of these spaces where they are needed most
  • If you’re able to support communities with their local Green Hubs through corporate volunteering
We’d love to hear from you!
