Green Teams

Around half a million young people were ‘economically inactive’ – not in learning or employment and not looking for work - a number which is rising since Covid-19. Groundwork Green Teams teach practical horticulture and landscape skills to people who need support to get into employment.

The programme is aimed at empowering communities to improve their natural environment for current and future generations. Our Back Yard is part of the Big Lottery Fund's wider Create your Space Programme. Working with new and future energy consumers. Our Energy Skills for Life project works with new and future energy consumers - young people aged 13 – 25, approaching leaving school, or at an early stage of living independently

Helping young people manage their energy bills. Our Power to Save project covers North Wales and helps young people to improve their financial capability through increasing their understanding of budgeting, reducing bills, and shopping around to access the best deals, to help to maximise their income, reduce risk of debt and improve their lives.

Thanks to funding from a Heritage Lottery Fund grant we have re-opened Minera Lead Mines near Wrexham as an exciting visitor attraction and outdoor events space. An exciting programme of activities for all ages and abilities will be run during school holidays.
