WeCare

We Educate Communities And Regenerate Environments

There are three strands to WeCare: Green Teams, Green Communities and Green Education. Funded by the Welsh Governments’ Enabling Natural resources and Well-being Grant, our work connects people and enhances pride within communities by developing and delivering local environmental improvements to transform neglected green spaces into a new green community asset everyone can benefit from.

Green Team

A formal structured programme for adults 16+ to gain new skills and qualifications in strimming, countryside management, construction and horticulture through a 12-week programme gaining practical employability skills and working on a green community project. This is a great opportunity for people to gain or update skills and get support for re-entry into education or employment. Participants can also achieve up to 5 qualifications such as.

  • First Aid
  • Environmental based Agored Cymru qualification
  • Strimmer licence
  • Employability qualification
  • Health & Safety

 Green Communities

Our Green Communities programme supports local volunteering and developing community champions. The programme will recruit new volunteers to enhance green spaces and reconnect local people with their local area. The programme will develop an ongoing long term volunteer team as well as offering one off workshops, events and volunteering opportunities for the wider community. We want to help improve confidence, self-esteem, health and well-being and make spaces greener and cleaner.

 Green Education

Our Green Education programme is curriculum linked and designed for primary and secondary schools and groups for young people. The programme delivers exciting and innovative workshops and education sessions on the environment, habitats and conservation.
