Each year Groundwork generates more than £100 million to deliver practical regeneration projects in the country’s most deprived neighbourhoods.
This money is secured from a variety of sources including the
UK Government and devolved assemblies, local authorities, the
private sector, charitable trusts, the European Union, the National
Lottery and from individual legacies and donations.
Groundwork currently receives a core grant from the Department for Communities & Local Government. The majority of this grant is distributed to Groundwork Trusts to support the development and delivery of local projects. A proportion is used to contribute to the costs of Groundwork UK’s national and regional teams in England. The value of this Government contribution is that both Groundwork UK and Groundwork Trusts are able to use it to raise additional resources, ensuring that the organisation delivers value for money and that projects are integrated with other local, regional and national strategies.
For every £1 we receive we are able to generate on average a further £3 from other sources. That means any contribution you make, large or small, is worth much more than the original sum donated.
