Energy Redress Programme
Groundwork is helping vulnerable households heat their homes and pay their energy bills via the Energy Redress programme.
The programme will offer assistance and relief for up to 4,300 vulnerable households across nine locations in England. Our team of experienced energy-efficiency experts, Green Doctors, will deliver services to help against the energy costs crisis and help people to stay warm and well.
The programme is funded via the Energy Redress Scheme, with funding managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
Aims of the programme
- The programme will build upon existing community partnerships to identify and support those in need of support, with a particular focus on those living in cold or damp conditions.
- As part of the offer, Green Doctors will install energy saving measures as well as offering advice on how households can reduce their energy usage and costs. This includes signposting to other organisations, such as debt relief or health and wellbeing support.
- Groundwork is also working alongside University College London to upskill Green Doctors by developing behaviour change resources that people can do in everyday activities such as cooking, washing and heating, as well as cost effective ways to keep cold and moisture out of the home.
