Scavenger hunt
Go outdoors and see what you find with a nature scavenger hunt. Get a list together of all the things you might find in your outdoor area and make it a race or a competition to see if you can find them all.
What you will need
A mental list of different things to collect, a bag to collect them in.
Activity
- Make a list of 10 different things you might be able to collect in your outdoor area, for example something long, round, hard, soft, brown, spikey, smooth, green, etc
- If there is more than one person playing, you could set a time limit and see how long it takes each person to collect all the objects. Can they find them all before you count to 100?
- Sit down and compare what you have found. Did you all pick up the same objects or are some of them different?
Try
Why not lay out all your objects and then try and create a picture with them, or try and make the shape of an animal with them.
Did you know?
Our finger tips are one of the most sensitive parts of our body. They are packed with nerve endings. We can feel tiny differences in texture, vibration and temperature with our finger tips.
