Frickley Country Park

Frickley Country Park

Frickley Country Park was the winner of Site of the Year and Health Site of the Year at the Land Trust’s annual awards ceremony. The site attracted over 80,000 visitors last year and started a popular weekly parkrun event, which attracts hundreds of enthusiastic runners every Saturday morning.

Our Countryside Park Rangers team manage open spaces like Frickley. They ensure the maintenance, conservation and accessibility of parks for local people.

The sites location means it serves many people, acting as a doorstep to the natural world. It provides an introduction to understanding and appreciation.

Frickley Country Park is a former colliery and now is now an attractive open space. It has over 7 miles of  footpaths and cycle-ways, giving you great opportunities to walk, run, cycle and escape in this natural environment. There are also several works of art which hark back to the land’s industrial past.

Car parking is available off Doncaster Road alongside the Frickley Lane bridleway

Open all year
