Café Assistant

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, toasties, jacket potatoes and light meals.
• Operating coffee machines and café equipment safely and efficiently.
• Delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Handling payments using the EPOS system.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and food safety.
• Restocking displays, fridges and supplies.
• Assisting with stock checks, deliveries, opening and closing procedures.
• Working alongside colleagues, volunteers and trainees to support the smooth running of the café.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

• A positive, friendly and reliable attitude.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Awareness of food hygiene and health and safety practices (training can be provided).
• A commitment to inclusion, community engagement and supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous café, hospitality or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
