ESOL Tutor – CIRCLE & IMPACT

Location: Groundwork London’s offices with a requirement to work across London. This role primarily delivers within the London boroughs of Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea. NB: The successful candidate will work from home during the Covid-19 pandemic in order to comply with social distancing measures.

Contract: Initial full-time contract until the end of September 2021 with a possible extension

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week

Groundwork London’s Employment and Skills Department is seeking a proactive and skilled ESOL Tutor to join our Employment and Skills Training Team. The role supports the Training and Skills Manager and also has responsibility for managing Sessional Staff and Volunteers supporting the Tutor in the delivery of training to migrants and refugee clients at various offices across London.

The successful candidate will work on two established Groundwork London projects; IMPACT and CIRCLE. Both projects are designed to support refugees and migrants (Third Country Nationals) with their integration into UK society and culture through a programme of holistic learning activities, coordinated and delivered through three key competency areas: Language, Preparation for Work and Cultural/Community activities.

The ESOL Tutor will be responsible for delivering group and one-to-one conversational English language sessions under the ‘Language’ strand in the CIRCLE and IMPACT learning programmes. By providing conversational English support the programme seeks to improve participants’ abilities to communicate with UK citizens and to enable them to link with and access services.

This exciting role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to enable learning delivery at various skill levels depending from the individual needs of the clients.

An excellent team player you will hold an appropriate ESOL qualification and have the experience to enable you to deliver ESOL programmes to individuals and groups, and also to supervise sessional workers and volunteers supporting the projects and your delivery. You will also have a sound knowledge of and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Corporate Applications Software (Microsoft 10), and be able to utilize them to effectively manage and deliver your work tasks and responsibilities.
