Joe, 22, has been working with his Progress Coach to help him build upon his CV and boost his confidence to help him get a job.

“I first found out about Progress through the job centre. I met Bob – my Progress Coach – and I had a positive feeling that this would be the course that could help me.

“I have a brain injury so there are limitations to the type of job I can do. I worked with Bob to come up with a plan of action, and he put me forward for qualifications that I can add to my CV. So far, I’ve done a fork-lifting qualification, a health and safety course and a NHS Administration traineeship, which I really enjoyed.

“The thing I’ve liked the most from my time on Progress is the fact that it’s one-to-one. I like that every course I’ve been put forward for, and support I’ve received is personalised to me and my future. Bob has been an excellent influence in my life and he’s very supportive towards what I need – he’s not a robot, which I’ve found to be the case on other courses and programmes I’ve tried.

“I enjoy working in IT and with computers, so my next step is to find a job or apprenticeship that will help me with this. I feel a lot more motivated now and feel proud that I have more on my CV that will help me to get a job.”
