Groundwork and People’s Postcode Lottery have announced their continued partnership into 2026 through the next round of the Grassroots Grants programme.

Delivered by Groundwork, People’s Postcode Lottery Grassroot Grants will provide unrestricted grants of up to £2,000 for small, local organisations in England that are making a positive impact in their communities.

Building on the success of previous funding rounds, the programme will run from January to September 2026 providing more opportunities for organisations, with an annual income of no more than £25,000, to apply.

Priority will be given to organisations that support communities that fall within the top 15% of the English Indices of Deprivation and those that work with and support communities that are marginalised or vulnerable.

We’re delighted our partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery is extending into next year, providing more opportunities for us to empower local communities with funding that meets the needs that they identify in their local area. We’re even more pleased that this will be the biggest programme yet, allowing us to distribute a larger number of grants to small, local organisations who need this support more than ever.

Graham Duxbury, Groundwork’s UK Chief Executive

It’s fantastic that players of People’s Postcode Lottery can support Groundwork in ensuring vital funding reaches the small, local organisations at the heart of our communities. Grassroots groups play an essential role in supporting people who face the greatest barriers, and we’re excited to see the impact this next round of funding will have across England.

Laura Chow, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery

Last year ZA Community in Bradford received nearly £2,000 to engage and promote wellbeing for women from marginalised communities.

Thanks to this funding, we have empowered women from underrepresented communities to improve their mental health, build confidence, and connect through nature, creativity and community – creating lasting change that continues beyond the project.

Amber Hussain, Director of ZA Community

Applications for the grant programme are expected to open in early January.
