Together is a collection of projects delivered by Groundwork London and Groundwork South which supports  refugees and non-EU migrants to settle into life in the UK.

Below are our current volunteering opportunities for the Together Programme:


Interpreting Volunteer

English and Arabic, Albanian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tigrinya, Russian, Farsi, Sinhala, Swahili, Lingala, Somali, Oromo or Pashto

We are looking for volunteer interpreters to enable us to support our participants to register and access our programme, and to support with the delivery of workshops where needed. 

We are looking for volunteers who speak fluently in both English and either Arabic, Albanian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tigrinya, Russian, Farsi, Sinhala, Swahili, Lingala, Somali, Oromo or Pashto. We need interpreters to be able to explain complex terms, for example around data protection and GDPR, and help us identify participants’ support needs. It will be a remote and ad hoc role that works flexibly around your own commitments.

Workshop Support Volunteer 

We are looking for volunteers to support the in-person and online delivery of creative activities and English conversation sessions for IMPACT and Together South. Knowledge of Afghan and Ukrainian languages would be an advantage but not essential!

As a volunteer, you will be:

  • Supporting the team to prepare and deliver the sessions
  • Setting up the space and welcoming participants
  • Leading small conversation groups
  • Supporting participants with tech during the sessions as necessary (when volunteering remotely)
  • Assisting with administrative and monitoring & evaluation tasks
