NEWS – Groundwork Greater Manchester recognised as Good Employment Charter Members
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme supported by the GMCA that aims to raise employment standards across Greater Manchester.
Groundwork Greater Manchester became members of the scheme in early 2024 after successfully evidencing their commitments against the Charters criteria, which is structured around seven areas:
- Secure work
- Flexible work
- Real Living Wage
- Engagement & Voice
- Recruitment
- People Management
- Health & Wellbeing
As part of the Good Employment Week celebrations this October, members of the Groundwork team were invited to accept their awards plaque from Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

Evelyn Brookfield, Strategic Lead for Quality and Environment at Groundwork Greater Manchester was in attendance and added,
We’re really proud to receive this award as a recognition of our commitment to our people. The Charter’s focus on equity, diversity and inclusion aligns with our mission to attract and retain diverse talent into our workforce, ensuring that people from all backgrounds can thrive at work. This certification, along with recent staff survey results where 92% of colleagues said that Groundwork Greater Manchester is a great place to work, encourages us to continue to adopt best practice in all aspects of employment.
