Green for Go Appeal
Green for Go gives adults with disabilities or health difficulties experience in practical environmental tasks such as developing allotments, planting trees, building planters and bird boxes, and conservation work, in a bid to increase their skills, experience and confidence, and ultimately improve their employment prospects. The volunteers involved are also given the opportunity to work towards an Open College Network certificate
The project has been running successfully for over 2 years, and has seen a large number of people get involved and numerous communities benefit from their work.
Groundwork’s Becky Houlding, Green for Go Co-ordinator, said: “Green for Go is a fantastic project for any adults who may face barriers to get involved in practical outdoor tasks. We’ve seen great results with volunteers in terms of increased confidence, developing additional skills, and a real sense of achievement from making a difference in their local community.”
We are asking for donations to help with the sustainability of Groundwork’s Green for Go. Without your support the project, that benefits so many individuals and communities, will cease to run.
