Groundwork London leads a ‘Building Better Opportunities’ partnership supporting Londoners with disabilities and long term health conditions back into work.
Groundwork London have been awarded £5.5 million from the 'Building Better Opportunities' programme to deliver a four-year project supporting people with disabilities and long term health conditions to transition into sustainable employment.
Building Better Opportunities brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle poverty and promote social inclusion across England.
Led by Groundwork London, the ACE project is delivered in partnership with organisations across all London boroughs. Together, we offer tailored one to one support and specialist advice to hundreds of individuals, matching them with and preparing them for appropriate and suitable job opportunities. Throughout the project we aim to support 1000 individuals, matching them with 900 job opportunities.
We also provide direct support to employers, helping them to identify and adapt vacancies within their organisations and ensure that capable, prepared and well suited candidates make the most of and succeed in these roles. Our grant also supports employers with the wage costs of our clients, in some cases for up to six months.
After matching individuals to the job opportunities we provide in-work support for individuals, helping them to settle into their new roles, making it easier for them to thrive in their new workplaces and transition into sustainable employment. Our expectation is that at least 400 people will remain in their roles after the first six months.
If you are an employer who would like to talk to us about offering ILM job opportunities or an individual who is looking for support to get into work, please contact the ACE team at Groundwork London on 020 7922 1230 or email email@example.com
